The Children's Initiative is a special project of HandReach
A registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supporting rural education in China. The CHI’s goal is to help children who have been disabled by burns or other orthopedic trauma to gain mobility that will allow them to pursue an education and a full, productive life. The project will facilitate collaboration between hospitals in China and the US so that expertise and resources can be shared that will allow our Chinese partners to build world-class pediatric facilities accessible to even the poorest rural families in China. Poor rural families are at the greatest risk for burns and severe injury, especially to children, yet the cost of significant treatment is completely out of reach for them. Our desire is to work together to help fill this gap. |
